Soprano Falkinger and pianist Fietzek, with their song program “Springtime”, greet the gentle breezes of the East Coast’s many shores. Through works by Schubert, Bruckner, Fanny Mendelssohn, along with their contemporaries, they explore several romantic reflections on nature, overcoming the last traces of winter’s sadness. With her clear and agile voice, she is a sought-after interpreter in the field of early music and a multiple award-winner at international competitions. Her recent engagements include performances at the Theater an der Wien (Monteverdi, Combattimenti), the Salzburg Festival as the lead in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Oper Wuppertal (Monteverdi, L’incoronazione di Poppea, Drusilla/Virtù), Esplanade Hall Singapore (Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9), the Vienna Musikverein (Bach, St. Matthew Passion), and with Jordi Savall (*Schumann, Das Paradies und die Peri). Whenever her schedule allows, she enjoys exploring the art of “Romantic Lieder” and developing new projects.\n\nDaniela Dawn Fietzek: Studied piano and chamber music in Vienna, Linz, and Oslo. She has worked as a répétiteur at the Arosa Music Academy in Switzerland and the Hugo Wolf Masterclass in Slovenj Gradec. Her performances include appearances at the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. She regularly performs with Harald Lesch and the Merlin Ensemble Vienna. Currently, she works as a piano pedagogue and répétiteur in Vienna, as well as a presenter and music journalist for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) on Radio Ö1.
