SUMMARY:Duo Mina Mas: “Risse. Eine Verdichtung”
DESCRIPTION:Image: Florian Voggeneder\n \nJune 11 | 6:30 PM\nTICKETS AVAILABLE IN DUE COURSE\nIn Risse. Eine Verdichtung, the Austrian duo mina mas ( https://www.instagram.com/_mina_mas_/ ) presents an interdisciplinary song cycle that brings the classical art song into direct dialogue with the realities of the 21st century. Historical works encounter electronic soundscapes, improvisation, and newly composed material, creating a dense musical reflection on freedom, overload, crisis, and the search for connection in a digital age.\nAbout the Concert\nAt the core of Risse. Eine Verdichtung lies a rethinking of the traditional “Lied”. Songs by Fanny Hensel, Johanna Kinkel, Kaija Saariaho, Franz Schubert, Clara Schumann, Arnold Schoenberg, Jean Sibelius, and Richard Strauss are interwoven with interventions, arrangements, improvisations, and original compositions by mina mas. Classical and contemporary music merge, are fractured, and reassembled into a cohesive narrative. Rigid gender roles that historically shaped the art-song repertoire are deliberately questioned and softened. The once-passive lyrical voice breaks free from conventional attributions, becoming active, multifaceted, and unsettling. Female and male composers stand side by side on equal footing, opening new perspectives on a familiar genre.\nAbout the Artists\nMichaela Resch, soprano, is an Austrian singer dedicated to unconventional approaches within classical music. She studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and focuses on art song and oratorio, with a strong emphasis on contemporary repertoire.\nIrina Fuchs, pianist, is an Austrian musician who also studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her artistic work centers on chamber music, particularly her collaboration with Michaela Resch in the Lied duo mina mas. Together, they explore feminist perspectives within the Lied repertoire and develop innovative concert formats rooted in a deep musical partnership.\n
