SUMMARY:ACFNY SUPPORTED | “ZETT” AT THE NEW YORK TELEVISION FESTIVAL 2018
DESCRIPTION:\nZett will have its world premiere at the prestigious New York Television Festival 2018 in Manhattan. It is the only German TV series that is part of the official selection in the Pilot Contest. The producer, director and actors will be present at the screening.\nThe Austrian film director, producer, and screenplay author Paul Harather started in 2017 with the production of Zett. Under his supervision, along with the production manager Daniel Rachnaev the complete Season 1 of Zett was produced mainly by teenagers between ages seventeen and twenty. The casting and research process took more than six months. The goal was to find an authentic and harmonizing cast with genuine stories. All actors appearing in the series are newcomers to the big screen.\nZett aims to open up an authentic view into “Generation Z”, a partly mysterious world to other generations. How does it feel to grow into the world of today? What are the real questions, needs, hopes and anxieties of the first digital natives? The stories in Zett are genuine; they are told by teenagers. There are no super-heroines or heroes, only a few crimes, drugs and parties that go wrong. It is about friendship, love, betrayal, seduction, rituals, hope, dreams and reality. The stories are based on actual events. Being shown is the essence of this “Generation Z”, a truth you are not likely to find on TV these days.\n>> Watch the Trailer here.\nABOUT THE DIRECTOR\nPaul Harather is an Austrian film director, producer, and screenplay author. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and received a student grant from Fulbright Austria to attend the American Film Institute in 1993-94. In 1993, Harather had a major success as the director of Indien, a road-movie-style tragicomedy. The movie won numerous international awards and was widely praised. Following that, he wrote and directed various films for Austrian and German TV. In 2011, Harather wrote, directed and produced the highly acclaimed series Schlawiner (aka Slackers), which ran for two seasons. The series was broadcasted in Austria, Germany, Denmark, and the UK.\n \nVENUE\nNYTVF\nHelen Mills Theater 139 W 26 Street\n
