The novels revolving around his main character, the detective Markus Cheng, born in Vienna to Chinese parents, already have legions of fans.\n“It is due to the ‘petitesses’ that Steinfest’s crime stories are so utterly readable – just to use one of of the author’s favorite words, which he smuggles into all texts at least once.” – Neue Zürcher Zeitung\n \nAward-winning Austrian crime novelist Heinrich Steinfest was born in 1961 in Albury, Australia.
