Roma Artist Ceija Stojka.\n \nAbout the Music\nShe embodies Pele, the fire goddess, who ignites passion in us, makes us debate heatedly and argue furiously. She paints a comforting picture of a familiar hand in your own in the dead of night. She leaves the space-time-continuum in search of the intangible that can be experienced but not explained: BASSticcio ( https://youtu.be/rDtCqdUaZW4 ) – a multimedia microcosm of contemporary music for bass clarinet. In her first solo program, Anna Koch interweaves innovative commissioned compositions by composers from Austria and the US with her own improvisations into an unheard-of whole, seeking to cross boundaries and find common ground.\n \nAbout the Artist\nAnna Koch ( http://www.annakoch.org/ ) is an Austrian clarinet and bass clarinet player specialized in contemporary and improvised music. Studies at the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna, graduation with honors in 2017. Premiere of her solo program BASSticcio in 2022. Selected Artist for NASOM ( https://www.musicexport.at/service-information/nasom/ ), the New Austrian Sound of Music 2023/24. She is also one of the incredible women of the CALLIOPE Join the Dots ( https://www.calliope.at/ ) project. A project of the Austrian Ministry of European and International Affairs ( https://www.bmeia.gv.at/en/ ), developed by Frauenmuseum Hittisau ( https://www.frauenmuseum.at/ ), that features incredible women of Austria who are shaping our society through their actions, and are a source of inspiration.
