Join us for a concert by the modern jazz ensemble Jazz Revival Collective, founded by Austria-based jazz musician and composer Vladimir Kostadinovic. The ensemble consists of four talented musicians, each bringing their own distinct style and expertise to the ensemble. The band’s lineup includes: Vladimir Kostadinovic on drums, driving the rhythm with a dynamic and expressive approach. Joe Locke on vibraphone, whose virtuosic playing and harmonic sensibilities add depth and complexity to the group’s sound. Vicente Archer on double bass, providing a solid foundation with their impeccable timing and soulful grooves. Jaka Kopac on alto saxophone whose soaring melodies and improvisational prowess captivate audiences.
Vladimir, a seasoned jazz musician and composer, was deeply inspired by the rich traditions and intricate language of jazz. Determined to keep this musical heritage alive and relevant in the contemporary music scene, he formed the Jazz Revival Collective in 2024. Vlad’s vision for the band was to blend the classic elements of jazz with modern influences, creating a unique sound that pays homage to the greats while pushing the boundaries of the genre. His dedication to preserving the jazz language is evident in the group’s intricate compositions, innovative improvisations, and the seamless interplay between its members.
Through their music, the Jazz Revival Collective continues to honor Vlad’s inspiration and commitment to jazz tradition, while also carving out a new path for future generations of jazz enthusiasts. About Vladimir Kostadinovic
Vladimir Kostadinovic, award winning drummer (Tuscia in Jazz 2008 Italy, Jimmy Woode Competition) bandleader, composer & arranger is one of the Europe jazz music scene’s most sought after drummers who has garnered international acclaim for his dynamic drumming style and exceptional musicality. Known for his versatile approach and profound sense of rhythm, Kostadinovic has captivated audiences worldwide, solidifying his reputation as a standout figure in the contemporary jazz scene. His performances are characterised by a deep emotional connection with the music, a testament to his dedication and love for the art form. Whether in an intimate club setting or a grand concert hall, Kostadinovic’s drumming resonates with audiences, leaving a lasting impression. He started his musical education at the age of five when he began studying classical accordion and drums. Drums has always been his real love and he wanted to pursue it, with a passion! Vladimir ranks high among drummers who are versatile and savvy enough to play different styles of music, as a sideman and with his own projects. In 2009 he went into the studio in New York with his band and recorded his first CD “COURSE OF EVENTS”. Shortly thereafter, he joined the band Antonio Farao Trio, with whom he is currently playing and traveling all over Europe. Vladimir also recorded his second album as a leader “THE LEFT SIDE OF LIFE” live at the Generations Jazz Festival in Frauenfeld, Switzerland which was released by one of the most prestigious jazz record lables in Europe ENJA Records.
