Responsible handling of personal data is a top priority for the Austrian Cultural Forum New York. It is important to us that you know when we collect which data and how we process it.
Data processing on the website
1) Website in general
The purpose of data processing via the website of the ACFNY is to provide information about its activities. By using the website or the content provided by the ACFNY, you as a user agree to data processing in accordance with this statement.
Data logged when accessing the website of the ACFNY will only be transmitted to third parties if we are obliged to do so by law or by court decision, or if this is necessary for legal or criminal prosecution in the event of attacks on the Internet infrastructure.
2) Server logs
Each of your accesses to the website of the ACFNY is stored in a log file (server logs) for a limited time with the following data:
– IP address of the requestor
– request details (e.g. user agent) and destination address incl. GET parameters
– Name of the retrieved file and amount of data transferred
– Date and time of the retrieval
– Message whether the retrieval was successful
– Form data (POST body) if an error occurs during submission
This data is used exclusively to check system security. There is no personal evaluation or profiling.
Nevertheless, we reserve the right to evaluate your IP address in the event of attacks on the Internet infrastructure of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
4) Analysis tool Google Analytics
You can disable the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link. 5) Publication of information containing personal data
Any publication of personal data on the website of the ACFNY (for example, contributors to cultural or scientific events, media contacts) is made on a contractual basis and/or with the consent of the data subjects.
Links to websites of other providers
Our online offer contains links to websites of other providers. We have no influence on whether these providers comply with data protection regulations.
The ACFNY uses Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter for the purpose of providing information about its activities. We publish personal data on Facebook only with the consent of the persons concerned.
Inquiries and applications via e-mail or postal entry point
Your personal information that you disclose to us via online forms, e-mail, or postal mail (for example, newsletter sign-up or event registration) will be handled responsibly by our staff and used only for the purpose of addressing your request or inquiry.
Invitation and event management
The ACFNY collects the contact data of interested persons for the purpose of inviting them to events. These contact details are processed until the purpose is fulfilled, and in the case of repeated invitations with the consent of the persons concerned, until revoked. You can request the deletion of your personal data from our contact databases at any time.
Newsletter, regular information and communications
The ACFNY provides interested persons with information about its activities by means of newsletters. Your personal contact information will be processed with your consent for the purpose of sending this information. You can revoke your consent and unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
At events, we take photos and videos for documentation purposes and for the purpose of informing you about the activities of the ACFNY, a selection of which may be published on the website, social media channels and in print media of the ACFNY or, on a case-by-case basis, of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. We process this data with your consent or in the legitimate interest of the Ministry. If you do not agree to the image processing, please contact us in advance of the event. You can also object to the use of your data at a later date.
Passing on personal data to third parties
Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes without your express consent, unless we are required to do so by law or court order.

We will correct it immediately and inform you about it. If the data processing is based on your consent, you can revoke your consent at any time.
Protection of minors
Persons under the age of 18 should not transmit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. The ACFNY does not request personal data from children and young people without official necessity. Without official necessity, such data will neither be collected nor passed on to third parties.
