ABOUT THE ARTISTS
The Austrian pianist of Persian origin, Hafez Babashahi, is one of the most versatile pianists of his generation and is internationally renowned for his virtuosity and lyricism in piano-playing. Mr. Babashahi graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He has performed with much acclaim in renowned concert halls in Austria and Germany such as the Musikverein Vienna, Landestheater Linz, Gasteig Munich and Deutsche Oper Berlin. Since 2016, he is the artistic director of “Wiener Lieder Herbst“, one of the most prestigious music festivals of art song in Austria.
A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mira Armij Gill is of East-Indian descent. She graduated from The Juilliard School with her BM and MM. While at Juilliard, Ms. Gill won the Artist’s International Young Artist Piano Award which resulted in her New York debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. Ms. Gill resides in New York and is currently on the piano faculty of Third Street Music School.
