Austrian filmmaker Jan Prazak will present the American premiere of his new short “The Motion of Stars” at the Tribeca Film Festival. Since its inaugural year in 2002, the Tribeca Film Festival has become a recognized outlet for independent filmmakers in all genres.

FILM SYNOPSIS
Eight-year-old Lena is fascinated by space; her favorite book describes the secret connection between people and stars. As a solar eclipse nears, her father takes her to watch the event. The true meaning of the lines from Lena’s book becomes clear when the rare spectacle of nature changes the lives of father and daughter forever.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Born in 1991, Jan Prazak grew up in Vienna, Austria. He studied German studies and went on to pursue directing at the Filmacademy Vienna, under the lead of Michael Haneke, in 2013. His short films have screened at numerous international film festivals.
