ACFNY RECOMMENDED | “EXIST” BY EVA URSPRUNG

PØST hosts a performance by Eva Ursprung on Friday, December 9 at 8 pm in space #1030 on the 10th floor of the Bendix Building with support from Mercantile Center/Copper Design Space.

The multi-media artist Eva Ursprung (Graz/AT) has been collecting sounds and video footage for years. From October until December she is working at Flux Factory in New York, comparing her co-industrial neighborhood in Queens with that on the southern fringe of Graz, where she is working back in Austria.(http://schaumbad.mur.at)

Sound samples of her artistic research journeys are composed of acoustic environments. Fragments are woven into abstract narratives, where fillers and babbles tell stories of laugh and fate. Insects are humming, and somebody might sing a song…

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Eva Ursprung lives and works in Graz/Austria. She studied psychology, philosophy and linguistics. Since 1986 she is working as a freelance artist and curator of installations, performances, art in the public, electronic and social space, working with video, conceptual photography, and sound.
