ACFNY SUPPORTED | A CASE NAMED FREUD

A play was written by Savyon Liebrecht and directed by Guy Ben-Aharon.

On the 12th of March 1938, Germany annexed Austria without a battle. The German tanks which crossed the border were embraced by the Austrians. Soon after their entry, the Germans launched a campaign against the Jewish population. Jews were persecuted on the streets, arrested and investigated by the Gestapo, and sent away from their homes. 9000 Jewish businessmen had Nazis appointed to supervise their businesses. Sigmund Freud was considered a businessman mainly because he was the owner of the publishing house of the International Psychoanalytic Association. Dr.Anton Sauerwald, a chemist, was appointed to be the trustee of Freud’s property.
