CONVERSATION | PERPETUAL PEACE CONVERSATIONS

Fall 2010 Perpetual Peace Conversations
at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York

Join us on Thursday, November 4th from 6:30-8:30pm, at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, for two casual conversations with Andreas Stadler and Adam Lupel.

Andreas Stadler, born 1965, is a leading Austrian diplomat, cultural manager and curator, who studied political science in Vienna, Warsaw and Florence. Stadler was Deputy Ambassador of Austria in Zagreb, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, and advisor for science, art, and culture to the Austrian Federal President. He has been the director of the Austrian Cultural Forum New York since 2007 and publishes on international relations and cultural politics.

Adam Lupel of the International Peace Institute (IPI) directs all IPI books, policy reports, and related publications. He also maintains an active research agenda on issues of popular sovereignty, globalization, and the international politics of genocide. He received his PhD in political theory in 2007 from the New School on “The People and the Globe: Popular Sovereignty between Globalizing Present and Cosmopolitan Future.”

on “Democracy’s Transnational Dilemma”

7:30pm: Andreas Stadler, Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
on “Stereotypes, Nationalism, Fascism”

These conversations will take place in the Peace Arena on the 4th Floor of the museum, and are presented in conjunction with the Perpetual Peace Project, Slought Foundation’s contribution to The Last Newspaper exhibition, on display through January 2011.
