Bruckner Orchester at Lincoln Center

The Bruckner Orchester looks back on more than two hundred years of history and tradition, and over the past few decades it has become one of Central Europe’s leading orchestras.

With its 110 musicians it manages not only the music for staged productions of Linz’s Upper Austrian State Theater but also the orchestra concerts. The Bruckner Orchester Linz fulfils a number of prominent tasks, including participation in the Bruckner Festival, the Ars Electronica Festival, the Linzer Klangwolke and the voestival. In the last few decades the Orchestra has earned an outstanding reputation for itself both in Austria and abroad.

The orchestra will tour the United States of America once again in the fall of 2009, having successfully completed it last U.S. tour in 2005. Some major assignments are also in store for the orchestra during Linz’s year as the European Capital of Culture in 2009, followed in 2011 by the opening of the city’s long-awaited new “Musiktheater” theatre and opera house.
