ABOUT THE AASFF
The Austrian American Short Film Festival (AASFF) is the first bilateral festival featuring short films in all forms and genres by promising young artists and filmmakers from both Austria and the United States. Set to take place annually, the three-day festival is presented and hosted by the Austrian Cultural Forum New York (ACFNY), and the selection of winning films are screened at Anthology Film Archives, New York, Museum of the Moving Image (MOMI), New York, and the frame[o]ut Festival, Museums- Quartier, Vienna.
AASFF WINNERS AT THE MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE
Following the festival at the ACFNY, MOMI will host this special program showcasing the winning films, as selected by the international jury headed by celebrated Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner (HOTEL, LOURDES, AMOUR FOU). Austrian and American films will be presented together, with prizes awarded in three categories: best narrative film, best experimental/conceptual film, and best documentary/hybrid film. Join the Q&A afterward with David Schwartz, one of the AASFF jury members and Chief Curator of the Museum of the Moving Image, and the three winning American filmmakers Sara Stern, Exa Zim and Javier Loarte.
