ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival is an annual, multi-day festival featuring works submitted by emerging and established composers, performers, and sound artists from all over the world. The festival includes pieces for live electronics and fixed media compositions of up to sixteen channels of sound, works for acoustic instruments and electronics, multi-media pieces such as those involving video and dance, and various kinds of audio and video installations.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Martina Claussen is a mezzo-soprano, vocal artist, composer and composer-performer. The focal point of her work lies in the interaction of her own voice, which also is the main sound source of her electroacoustic compositions and live electronics. She studied voice, vocal pedagogy, computer music and electronic media at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. Her compositions have been broadcasted by various radio stations in Europe and have been played at international festivals such as Festival Futura 2015 (Crest, France), Soundscapes & Sound Identities 2015 (Italy) and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival 2016. Since 2009, she holds the position of ao. Professor of Voice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
