In the framework of our current exhibition WILD WEST, we are excited to present a pop-up artist talk with Mary Heilmann. The talk will be moderated by artist and curator of WILD WEST Andreas Reiter Raabe.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Mary Heilmann lives and works in Bridgehampton, New York and New York City. Her works are included in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, San Francisco MoMA, and the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, Netherlands. Most recently, Craig Starr Gallery presented the exhibition RYB: Mary Heilmann Paintings, 1975-78, and Heilmann’s exhibition Painting Pictures will be shown at the Dia Art Foundation Dan Flavin Art Institute in Bridgehampton, New York through May of next year. Heilmann is represented by Hauser & Wirth and 303 Gallery, New York.

Andreas Reiter Raabe is an artist and curator living and working in Vienna. Raabe is one of the founders of Gesso Artspace, a Viennese exhibition venue and is a member of the Executive Board of Vienna Secession. He has lectured at USC Los Angeles, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, The Royal Academy of Arts, London, and The University of Art and Design Linz. As an artist, he has exhibited internationally in group and solo shows.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
WILD WEST is a group exhibition commemorating the dynamic legacy of late Austrian artist Franz West (1947-2012) on view at the ACFNY through January 22, 2018. Curated by former West-collaborator Andreas Reiter Raabe, the show consists of works by Franz West, his New York-based contemporaries, and commissioned works by emerging artists from both New York and Austria. Exhibiting artists: Franz West, Rudolf Stingel, Urs Fischer, Mary Heilmann, Andreas Reiter Raabe, Rudolf Polanszky, Octavian Trauttmansdorff, Anna-Sophie Berger, Tillman Kaiser, Sarah Lucas, Anne Schneider, Rirkrit Tiravanija, KAYA (Kerstin Brätsch / Debo Eilers).
