Experience DESIRE DELAYED, a unique site-specific theater production that transforms the streets of New York into a live performance stage. Set at the intersection of Avenue of the Americas and 44th Street, the audience experiences the work from behind a large storefront window, observing the city’s everyday rhythms as theater unfolds in real time.

About the Play

Equipped with microports, the performers move through the bustling streetscape, blending into the flow of pedestrians, traffic, and urban life. While the audience can only see the street, the scenes are shaped through live-edited sound, allowing spectators to hear intimate conversations and narratives otherwise hidden within the city’s noise. Between sirens, passing cars, street vendors, and fleeting encounters, the audience’s attention shifts from one unfolding story to another, revealing moments that are at once bizarre, humorous, and deeply human.

Presented by a diverse cast of performers, actors, and musicians from New York and Vienna.
