ACFNY presents: HYPERREALITY Preview NYC
Byrell The Great
Fauna
Gischt
Jung An Tagen
Klitclique

In the second part of the program, taking place at ACFNY, we will present a group of Viennese artists from this and last year’s HYPERREALITY line-up. They will perform live-sets and preview their new work in an exclusive event. Young electronic musician Jung An Tagen will present his new LP Agent im Objekt, which was released this February on Peter Rehberg‘s renowned Editions Mego label. Fauna‘s new LP Infernum will be released this spring on Vienna‘s Ventil records. Fauna‘s live performance at the ACFNY with bass player Ursula Winterauer will be an exclusive preview to the commissioned release-show of Infernum at HYPERREALITY in Vienna. In addition to her performance with Fauna, Ursula Winterauer will present her solo-work as Gischt. Experimental hip hop-duo Klitclique will also perform material from their new LP, released this spring on their own label. Klitclique’s idiosyncratic take on hip hop elevates the classical form to a new performative level. New York underground dance DJ and producer Byrell The Great will join the performances at the ACFNY with his own take on contemporary Voguing styles.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Byrell The Great
is viewed as one of the New York kiki scene’s top-drawer DJs. In the voguing community, kiki balls are distinguished from their bigger sisters—the ballroom events—by their younger audiences and more open atmospheres. These days, Byrell The Great is also a frequently booked DJ in ballrooms with legendary queens, and as a member of MikeQ’s crew and a representative of the vogue sound, he regularly tours around the world.

Following Fauna‘s debut album D(r)one on Moun10 Records plus a series of digital releases such as 2016’s Immrtl on Aleksandar Vučenović’s AMEN label, Vienna-native Rana Faharani’s new LP Infernum (Ventil Records) is set to drop in May of next year. Her release show at HYPERREALITY will exhibit Infernum performed live in collaboration with musicians including Ursula Winterauer and with an audio-visual show by AMEN.

Ursula Winterauer lives and works as a composer, musician, producer and curator in Vienna. She founded the label Ventil Records in 2014 and works on the distribution and realization of artistic projects in the field of sound-art and advanced electronic music. As Gischt, her newly established solo project, Winterauer explores the gray areas between digital ambient and slow-motion techno.

With his debut on the renowned label Editions Mego, Stefan Juster a.k.a. Jung An Tagen succeeded in positioning himself as one of the most distinctive new voices in the current electronic music scene—Jung an Tagen has been praised internationally by magazines like The Quietus and The Wire.

Klitclique is Vienna’s answer to sad boys. Nobody has recorded them because they never wanted to be recorded so far – instead, they’ve disrupted the art world, graffiti culture, and various freestyle battles with their unpredictable live interventions. Their debut album will be released in 2018 on their own label, Bad in Bed Records. In their words, “rap is not a hole but something else that touches you.”

This event will be mostly standing room, with limited seating.
