Join us for an intimate solo piano evening with Austrian jazz pianist and composer Simon Raab, a leading voice of Vienna’s contemporary jazz scene.
About the Concert
Simon Raab presents a deeply personal solo piano program that embraces reduction, focus, and openness. Known as a versatile and technically refined pianist, Raab has long been an integral part of Austria’s young jazz scene, both as a sought-after sideman and as the bandleader of the award-winning quartet Purple is the Color. In this solo project, Raab steps away from ensemble interaction and audience feedback, performing alone at the piano. The music emerged through an intense process of improvisation and composition, shaped note by note in the studio. Reduced to its essence, each sound carries weight and intention. The result is music that feels like audible reflection: Clear, flowing, and light, yet rich in detail and unpredictability. This concert invites listeners into an intimate and poetic musical universe shaped by Raab’s unmistakably Austrian artistic voice.
