Join the ACFNY for a virtual concert celebrating the holiday season! Cozy up with a cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine and listen to your holiday favorites performed by the Austrian trio ensemble Cobario.

ABOUT COBARIO

Starting as street musicians in Barcelona, ​​Rio Che and El Coba founded the purely instrumental acoustic project “Cobario” in 2006. The exceptional violinist Herwig Schaffner alias Herwigos joined shortly afterward to form a trio of a special kind, which has been drawing more and more pleasure listeners under its spell since then. Spanish, Irish, Oriental and Slavic influences combined with classical elements shape the sound and invite you to close your eyes and go on a journey. Cobario has now been a guest at numerous European and North American festivals, and the impressions from these trips are repeatedly reflected in new compositions.

In 2016, Cobario was selected for the “New Austrian Sound of Music” (“NASOM”) program of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

The trio has so far given concerts in 29 countries on four continents in order to delight an international audience with its Viennese world music.
